We have, in turn, developed systems and procedures to assist our customers, and their employees, in coping with the impact of unpredictable critical incidents.

Critical Incident Stress Management Services

Behavioural Management defines a Critical Incident as a sudden traumatic event experienced by personnel which produces intense emotional reactions and has the potential to interfere with functioning. These are events with circumstances which are unusual or distressing and
they typically produce immediate and/or delayed emotional reactions that surpass the individual's normal coping mechanisms.

Examples of Critical Incidents can include:

Violent or catastrophic events such as shootings, robberies, accidents, and natural disasters.
The serious injury, illness or death of an employee.
A distressing occurrence that attracts unusual media attention.

Behavioural Management has wide experience assisting organizations, families and individuals in adjusting to the aftermath of traumatic events. We can response to your site within hours of a traumatic event, remain on-site and assist those impacted by the event.

The most important step a person can take after a Critical Incident is to recognize that life does not automatically return to normal following tragedy. Trauma deserves expert consideration, planning and response. Behavioural Management has found that those individuals who acknowledge and address the inevitable impact of trauma significantly
reduce the recovery period for themselves, their families and their lives as a whole.
