Confidentiality Issues

Since confidentiality is the cornerstone of all Behavioural
Management programs and, since the rule of client confidentiality is also established under state and federal law, the assurance of compliance with confidentiality requirements is another key element of Behavioural Management system.

Behavioural Management ensures client confidentiality through a set of established clinical protocols and systems which safeguard that no identifying information about a Behavioural Management program participant is released outside of our system unless the client has given their specific written consent, or unless there is a specific statutory requirement under applicable laws governing reporting of child abuse, elder abuse, or an active risk of violence to self or others.

To guarantee privacy, Behavioural Management client records are maintained at all times in encrypted files, by assigned code numbers, without names. We have also developed appropriate Release of Information forms, as well as specific training for clinical and administrative staff to ensure that all staff comply with confidentiality requirements.
